Galencia Property Symphony Wine Festival announces music and artist line up for festival at Montecasino.

The Galencia Property Symphony Wine Festival in association with Core Catering will be happening at Montecasino from 30 September to 2 October 2016, presented by headline sponsor Galencia Property.

In addition to great wine on offer from leading wine estates, guests can look forward to a fantastic range of exhibitors from the food industry and liquor industry. The festival encourages visitors to savour, linger longer, sample and shop from a wide range of produce in the relaxed atmosphere of a boutique food and drink market. Festival goers will be blown away by the superior class and sophistication presented at this year’s Symphony celebration.

Central to the Festival is the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra who will be playing 8 sessions over the 3 days and delight visitors with renditions of popular music where “Classic meets Pop” in a style similar to “Night at the Proms”

The Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra (JSO) is one of the oldest orchestras in South Africa.  The orchestra has a long and illustrious history and has been instrumental in the development of many South Africa musicians, some of whom have achieved international standing.

The Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra with a compliment of 40 musicians will be conducted by Eric Rycroft and will perform a programme each day at the festival (check\k programme for performance times) which included the following pieces L’Arlesienne (Farandole).  Eine Kleine Nichtmusik, Paladdio, Township Medley, In the Mood, Czardas,  Por una Cabeza,  Abba Medley, Thunder & Lightning, Ludwig’s Celebration, Lion Sleeps Tonight, Disco Medley, Jealosie, Beatles  Medley.

Eric Rycroft has enjoyed a remarkable career as a performer (professional soloist, recording artist, principal orchestral player and chamber music artist), teacher and conductor. He was a senior member of staff at the Conservatoire, University of Stellenbosch for 30 years, and half that time as an Associate Professor. In 1995 he was also appointed principal Conductor and Music Director of the National Chamber Orchestra.

This year in addition to the sessions played by the Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra there is an exciting line up of artists to entertain guests at the 2016 Galencia Symphony Wine Festival. The following artists have already been confirmed Natalie Poppy, Warren Carrie , Sean Hayz, Adele Ngeto , Kylie Unsworth, Cindy Alter (From Clout), Justin Serrao,  Will Rayz and Tony Bala.

With a cast of gourmand exhibitors, artisan foodie producers, superlative snifters and award-winning wineries, the show is set to delight with a kaleidoscopic array of the city’s finest food, drink and music.

Braeside Meat Market, 2 Thai 4, Snorting Boar, Real Wraps, Toro Loco, Beluga, Bearded Fella, Shawarma Company, Primi Piatti, Thava and Belgian Delicacies by Philippe Frydman will be on site to tantalise guest’s taste buds.
