Recent visitors to Tau Game Lodge in the Madikwe Reserve have taken the time to post comments of their delightful experiences at the 5-star safari destination on TripAdvisor, viewed by thousands of discerning global travellers as a sought after forum on which to share their most memorable travel experiences.
Says Renate Oostmeijer, Reservations and Marketing Manager for Tau: “Our team strives to provide guests with an unforgettable safari experience, with the emphasis on an authentic bush getaway, yet in comfortable and convivial surroundings. It is a well-known fact that Madikwe offers the game viewing experience of a lifetime, ranging from the Big Five to smaller game, such as the endangered African Wild Dog, of which numbers have remained stable in the region for many years. Our lodge design takes game viewing up a further notch by making the most of the waterhole in full view of our hospitality as well as most room decks, where guests tend to wax lyrical about game sightings on their doorstep.”
This is just some of the many compliments Tau has received on TripAdvisor in recent months:
Ø We had the most amazing vacation in this Game Lodge last weekend. I am quite sure I am going to remember it for a long, long time. Absolutely sensational experience – perfect rooms, perfect views and perfect safaris. Dining here has been a pleasure and the service top class. The rooms are perfectly placed – right in front of the water body where the animals come to drink water. Interestingly, there are 5 crocodiles in that water body as well; everything is right there, in front of your balcony. Never before have I seen such a magnificent night sky – there was the Milky Way right in front of me. The safari was pretty cool. Our ranger Megan made it extra cool – we saw cheetah, lion, herds of elephant, antelope, impala, giraffe, zebra and rhino, everything in abundance! Given a choice, I would certainly visit Tau again.
Ø Our group of 13 co-workers spent a weekend at Tau and we couldn’t have been more pleased. Although arriving late, the Tau team welcomed us with a refreshing hot towel and drinks and served a late dinner especially for us. The food was amazing and the presentation beautiful. The rooms, although romantic in ambience, were perfect for colleagues sharing the king-size bed, which could split into two beds. The buffet breakfast and egg station made for a perfect start to our day, followed by an exhilarating game drive with a tea, coffee, hot chocolate stop in the bush. Our rangers Megan and Dylan were superb and proved extremely knowledgeable about the terrain, history and animals, whilst creating a fun experience for our group.
Ø Our daughter and son-in-law chose Tau as their wedding venue; the 60 guests spent the entire weekend by choice instead of one night only. Words cannot express how thrilled we were with the whole experience and we found the staff to be exceptionally hospitable, friendly and willing to go way beyond our expectations to make this a memorable occasion.
