Food Network launches the #MakeItSibalicious social media campaign on Monday, inviting fans to submit recipes to appear in Siba’s 2018 series on Food Network.
Running for the month of March the campaign is being promoted across Food Network South Africa and Siba Mtongana’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. To enter fans and foodies must send images or short descriptions of dishes they’d like to be made Sibalicious using the hashtag #MakeItSibalicious. The chosen recipes will be remade with a Siba twist and featured in the show.
I have always hoped to somehow involve fans and audiences in the production of a series, as I have had so many requests for this to happen.” says Siba. “I’m super delighted we are taking this current approach. This is a thoroughly contemporary production with a mix of social media, digital trends, wonderful food and creative ideas that allow me to engage with foodies throughout Africa, without leaving my kitchen!
Siba’s Table: Sibalicious! will air early 2018 on Food Network DStv Channel 175 with Siba presenting ten tasty half hour episodes, this time with a different and innovative format that encompasses South Africa and beyond.

Food Network delivers a fresh approach to food programming and celebrates everything that is bold, fun and entertaining about the genre and is not your typical ‘how to’ cooking channel. Food Network continues to be one of the fastest growing lifestyle and entertainment brands, packed with award-winning cooking, celebrity chefs and competition shows.
Food Network had already decided to expand their local programming in South Africa when they found Siba. Instantly recognising her star power, Food Network commissioned Siba’s Table s1 in 2013. The series proved to be an instant hit and was in the top 5 titles of the year for Food Network South Africa – a position Siba has retained every year since!
Siba’s Table s1 focussed on giving traditional recipes a completely modern twist and an injection of international flavour. From weekend brunch and instant suppers to family feasts and beach braais, Siba’s Table s1 provided viewers an irresistible half-hour slice of recipe ideas, tips and inspiration for all occasions.
The success of Siba’s Table s1 led to a first for Food Network South Africa, when the show was picked up by the Cooking Channel in the U.S., where it launched in 2014. This milestone made Siba one of the first South African chefs to host a series on a U.S. TV network.
Siba’s Table s2 followed the successful format of series one and was filmed on location in Cape Town at Siba’s Hout Bay family home. Premiering in 2015, the second series featured Siba’s ever expanding gorgeous family, and once again the global foodie phenomenon served up a host of delicious dishes for a variety of occasions.
Following the birth of her third child, and as Siba’s Table s3 was greenlit, Siba published her first cookbook My Table, which has made history as the best-selling cookbook ever to have been stocked by Woolworths SA. With each development, Siba’s status as national treasure and star of Food Network has become firmly cemented.
Siba’s Table s3 was filmed in 2016 and is set to premiere in July 2017. Siba’s Table: Sibalicious! has now been greenlit with filming to commence in April 2017. This brand new series will include Siba taking viewer submitted recipes and giving them a twist to make them Sibalicious!
Siba’s Table: Sibalicious! will premiere in early 2018.
