The Group’s new Joburg-based station will initially operate as a pop-up venue brimming with authentic commuter detail well-suited to Joburg’s status as an emerging world city.

“Local and overseas visitors will immediately recognise the iconic design of the London Underground and appreciate just how well it fuses with the bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere of Parkhurst’s 4th Avenue,” says Neil Basel, spokesperson for the House of London.

“Joburg’s reputation as a cultural melting pot has meant it’s been on our radar for some time. We knew we had to acquire a premium space on one of the city’s most diverse streets as it would be the perfect fit for a hospitality experience that’s about including everyone,” Mr Basel adds.

It’s been four years since the Station on Bree opened in Cape Town with themed stations reflecting a global commuter experience.
“Opening The Station Parkhurst during the current challenging environment reflects our confidence in our Coronavirus-beating measures that go above and beyond what is mandatory. We’ve created a safe harbour in a unique corner of Joburg and we’re excited to share this experience with the continent’s most happening city,” says Mr Basel.

The Station concept is hip and colourful with the ‘Mind the Gap’ theme carried throughout the venue from train seating to bus shelters, familiar underground signage and more.
“The Station Parkhurst guarantees a great night’s entertainment but it’s the food that takes centre stage at this fantastic venue, and of course, the over 150 gin varieties that keep the wheels oiled,” he says.

From leisurely lunches to late dinners, visitors have the option of traditional main meals or a choice of small plates that enable a shared approach to group dining. Celebrated chef Warwick King has created something really special in Cape Town and now designed an outstanding menu appealing to the demanding taste of Joburgers.

Whether you’re looking to begin your day with an artisanal coffee, end the day with an after-work cocktail, enjoy a leisurely dining experience or start your evening off with a bang, the lively atmosphere of The Station Parkhurst will provide an ideal day-to-night setting for everyone.

Operating times are Tuesdays to Sundays 10am to 11pm.
