Jamie’s Italian South Africa announces its new winter menu with a proudly South African twist!

Jamie’s Italian South Africa is excited to announce its new winter menu, now available at the cosy restaurant based in Melrose Arch. You can look forward to locally developed dishes that showcase the South African flavours truly unique to our versatile culture.

There’ll be 16 delicious new dishes on offer, five of which have been created locally with only the freshest South African ingredients – classic Italian tastes made lekker!

The five new South African dishes are:

• Seafood bucatini
Sustainable fresh white fish, fresh Saldanha Bay mussels and calamari cooked with cherry tomatoes, white wine, parsley and chilli, tossed through our freshly made bucatini pasta

• Buttermilk-fried chicken burger
Free-range buttermilk-battered chicken breast deep fried and served in a brioche bun with Calabrian chilli mayonnaise, fontal cheese, tomato and rocket – served with fries

• Herby lemon chicken
A proudly South African dish – free-range boneless chicken flash grilled and then baked with lemon and thyme, served on a bed of green beans, baby potatoes, cherry tomatoes, olives, basil and red onion, with our freshly made basil pesto and pine nuts

• Spicy chilli beef pizza
Chilli-infused free-range meatballs, flash-pickled onions and fresh chilli on a crushed tomato sauce base with our hand-stretched pizza dough

• Bistecca alla Fiorentine
450gr 28-day dry-aged T-Bone grilled to perfection, rested and topped with a garlic butter and herb sauce, served with a side and sauce of choice

Like all the dishes served at Jamie’s Italian, each new menu item is freshly made on the premises every day and all ingredients have been lovingly sourced locally according to Jamie’s Italian’s food ethos – with a focus on fresh ingredients, animal welfare and sustainability.

Guests can look forward to big flavours, old classics, and amazing new and healthy ingredient twists. Some of the other new menu dishes include Slow-cooked lamb shank – brazed until almost off the bone, served on olive oil-infused mashed potato with a rich lamb gravy and salsa verde – and a mouth-watering Oxtail lasagna – herby 12-hour oxtail ragù layered with homemade pasta, Béchamel, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

This menu is close to our heart and has taken a very long time to develop to perfection to suit the taste requirements of our customers. We are very excited to be able to launch our Jamie’s Italian winter menu that’ll meet every ‘hearty food’ expectation.
