Clico Boutique Hotel has a new head chef and as a result of her innovative skills and seasonal fresh ingredients used in her culinary delights, regular and new diners seem enthralled with her newly launched menus.
Izanne Nawn joined the chic boutique hotel in September this year as head chef and sports an impressive track record including:
Lecturing chefs at the Capital Hotel School;
Six years in game lodge hospitality, of which four years were spent in the internationally renowned Madikwe Game Reserve at Madikwe Safari Lodge and Madikwe Hills Safari Lodge;
Travelling and working in the USA;
Graduating from Tswane University of Technology (previously Pretoria Technicon).
On why she decided to join Clico, Izanne says: “ Clico is recognised as a fine dining destination and I want guests’ expectations to be exceeded by the menus and taste options our team is creating.”
Izanne is accustomed to catering for discerning international diners and she admits to having a particular fondness for creating versatile fine dining menus with an African flair.
Clico will be offering the delectable Christmas menu for Christmas Eve as well as Christmas Day dinner. Christmas Day lunch reservations are already closed as a result of early bookings from regular diners, hence the additional options now on offer.
The Christmas menu @ R515 per person will include – wine pairing optional at an additional R190 per person: welcome drink, amuse bouche, hummus, smoked oyster and honey toasted pecans; homemade artisan breads, goats cheese panna cotta with beetroot jelly; turkey ballontine stuffed walnut and cranberry, wild mushroom and leek ragout with coriander foam; maple and blueberry glazed gammon, white carrot puree, mange toute, grilled pears and mustard jus; rack of lamb stuffed with garlic, potato fondant, caramelised onions with mint and pea meringue with spicy plum sauce; Christmas pudding, eggnog ice cream, elderflower Turkish delight and brandy crème Anglaise; friandise, tea and coffee, small gift on departure. 50% deposit required to secure a table.
A scrumptious New Year’s Eve dinner and brunch are also on offer.

Chef Izanne Nawn and her team will be delighted to spoil guests with a 5- course tasting menu @ R425 per person – optional wine pairing for an additional R190 per person is recommended. Reservations open from 18:00 and last seating at 19:30. Bookings are essential and dietary requirements must please be advised at least 2 days prior to the night.
Stay overnight in style after the New Year’s celebrations in Rosebank and surrounds at a special rate of R1,980 per double room per night. This includes a sumptuous New Year’s Day Brunch with a glass of bubbly, which will be available until midday.
New Year’s brunch is available @ R265 per person on 1st January 2015 is also available for non-overnight guests.
Reservations are essential and dietaries and allergies can be catered for on advisement.
This summer’s high tea, breakfast, taste-menu buffet and year-end functions will see plenty new delectable treats in store for fine-diners, whilst oyster and champagne Fridays will become a regular treat for local diners as well as overnight guests.
Wine-pairing has always been an institution at Clico and Izanne and her team are already working with boutique wine-makers such as Waterford for regular wine-tasting events at the award-winning hotel.
