If you haven’t yet thought what you can do this Mandela Day or you simply want to help those South Africans in crisis then please think of supporting this Chefs with Compassion appeal.
A truck filled with foodstuff and other items is headed to the Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands on Monday to help with much-needed relief. No contribution is too small – be it a tin of baked beans or a packet of dried beans. The drive is being spearheaded by one of many unsung South African heroes, Steve Maresch of Local Grill. You have until 16h00 on Sunday to drop off items at The Local Grill, corner 3rd and 7th avenues in Parktown North. They are looking for non-perishable – foodstuff, toiletries, pet food, babies nappies and formula.
What is really heart-warming is the incredible hard work that has been put in by Steve and other chefs who come from one of the industries most impacted by Covid.
