Catch all the excitement of UEFA Euro 2016 at Bistro Michel @BistroMichelZA

Make a rendezvous to catch all the excitement of Euro 2016 at Bistro Michel from Friday, June 10, when France plays Romania in the opening match, until the finals on Sunday, July 10.

Big screens – which will feature live coverage of all the games – have been set up on the screened-off Bistro Michel patio. For every game, a special gourmet Bistro Michel hamburger has been created especially for the occasion accompanied by a complementary cocktail made with Martell’s cognac.

France will open Euro 2016 against Romania in St-Denis with the opening ceremony starting at 20h00 and the match at 21h00. On the menu is Bistro Michel’s acclaimed brie burger – a homemade beef patty, crumbed mustard Brie disc and topped with a honey and onion compote all served in a fresh bun. All burgers are served with a side order of chips. Prices range from R90 to R115.

Bistro Michel’s regular menu is also available to football fans. The main restaurant itself operates as usual for those patrons not wanting to watch the football.

Says owner and chef Michel Morand: “Bistro Michel is a proudly French restaurant and I am delighted that one of football’s biggest tournaments is taking place in the country of my birth. We look forward to celebrating Les Bleus and all the teams participating while serving up the hamburger (and other dishes) that we have become famous for!”

Being a French bistro, Morand has added his own twist to this popular fast food dish. The restaurant even makes its own ketchup to serve with the pomme frittes. Apart from the classic beef burger with Emmentaler cheese, pickles and homemade barbecue sauce, there are a variety of hamburger options and Michel is looking forward to creating ones for the various teams taking part in Euro 2016.
