With only a few more weeks to go until the Winter Sculpture Fair presented by MasterCard, we’re starting to get really excited about the innovative menus our chefs will be bringing from Franschhoek to the Cradle of Humankind. Whether you’re in the market for a charcuterie board or a duck trio, a quick burger or a cauliflower risotto, there’s sure to be a unique meal to whet your appetite.
Gourmet food and bubbly
After last year’s success, we have double the number of restaurants flying up from Franschhoek. The chefs have devised loads of quick options, like a kiddies burger for the little ones and the likes of bacon sarmies, oysters and balsamic onion tarts for the rest of us. If you’re looking for something hearty, why not try the chargrilled beef short rib with winter slaw, smoked red wine and chilli basting, from the French Connection Bistro, or Duncan Doherty’s warm smoked rabbit terrine with smoked feta, yoghurt and wholegrain mustard sauce. In the mood for a lighter option? How about the BBQ pork burger with slaw from Le Verger the Orchard Restaurant, or the tuna fishcakes from Café des Arts?
