Knitting up a storm for Mandela Day!

Knitting up a storm for Mandela Day!

Anyone looking for a “goodwool” way to spend Nelson Mandela Day on the 18th July, can join the 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day knitwits who will be spending the day doing their thing at the UJ Campus in Soweto.

There is an open invitation to anyone who wants to spend the day doing something good to celebrate this very special day, if you are already a knitwit or would like to learn to knit or crochet or be involved in this incredible movement pop along and spend the day clicking needles, knowing that stitch by stitch the country is being kept warm.

This initiative has taken the country by storm and is growing weekly, with people globally joining the wool revolution. Last week knitwits took to the streets in various centres around the country to tie handmade scarves to trees and poles for members of the public to take to keep themselves warm, another successful campaign by these hardworking crafters.

This is also an opportunity to hand in blankets, scarves or squares should you want too on Saturday for 67 Blankets for Nelson Mandela Day.

The knitathon will be held at:

UJ SOWETO CAMPUS, CHRIS HANI DRIVE, SOWETO
SATURDAY 18 JULY 2015
FROM 9AM – 3PM

Please RSVP to BUZ Publicity to christabel@buz.co.za or call 011 482 3467/89.
