Prolific South African alternative pop rock band, Die Heuwels Fantasties, will treat their fans to a rocking show as part of Sun City’s Warm Winter Musiekfees taking place on Sunday 29 May 2016.
They have promised a lively set featuring some of their popular early hits as well as new material from their latest album Ja.Nee.Lekker. The groundbreaking band, from Bellville, Cape Town, is widely considered to be the first successful Afrikaans electronic act. They are revered for their unique music and their energetic live performances and have gathered a large and wide fan base since their inception in 2008. Die Heuwels Fantasties has played at all the major festivals in South Africa and has shared the stage with notable international acts, including opening for Kings of Leon in 2012. They have also toured to the Netherlands, Belgium and UK.
Die Heuwels Fantasties have won every notable award in South Africa for their music and music videos. Their first album, Die Heuwels Fantasties and their second album, Wilder as die Wildtuin, both reached Gold status in sales. Their third album, Alles wat Mal is, reached Gold within three months after its release in February 2013.
Other artists on the bill for the Warm Winter Musiekfees, at Sun City’s new events venue, Sun Park are Dozi; ADAM; Bobby van Jaarsveld, Pieter Koen, Jannie Moolman, Pieter Smith and Talana Vuuren. With a decidedly and authentically South African feel, the Warm Winter Musiekfees is produced and staged by Sun City and MPM (Musiek Profile Management) and will showcase the diversity and energy of the country’s very best Afrikaans pop and rock entertainers. Revelers will be treated to an afternoon of superlative entertainment, a vibrant beer garden and delicious food. The festival will commence from 12h00 and conclude at around 18h00.
