A fine fusion of food paired with South African MCCs and French Champagnes #BrooklynBubbles

Brooklyn Bubbles – the hugely successful and highly anticipated MCC and Champagne event – is gearing up for the weekend with festivals on both Friday, March 3 (6pm-10pm), and Saturday, March 4 (12 noon-5pm). Due to potential wet weather, the functions will take place on the top floor of Brooklyn Square.

The festival will feature some of South Africa’s finest Methodé Cap Classiques and a selection of France’s best Champagnes. Local MCC producers at this year’s event include Avondale, Charles Fox, Domaine des Dieux, Villiera, Montpellier de Tulbagh, Genevieve MCC, Paul René, L’Ormarins, Pierre Jourdan, DeGrendel, Simonsig, Krone, JC Le Roux, Dieu Donne and Saronsberg. France’s Champagne houses will be represented by Nicolas Feuillatte, Taittinger and Luc Belaire.

And what would bubbly be without some fabulous food to accompany it? Catering will be courtesy of award-winning chef Vanessa Marx who will provide a range of marvellous meals including pulled pork buns; crispy sesame chicken on Asian slaw with sticky glaze; no-carb noodles with chicken, basil pesto, sundried tomatoes and feta (for the banters!); bacon and cheese beef burgers; various bruschetta with roast beef & mustard, smoked trout & cream cheese and mozzarella, marinated tomato, basil & capers and cheese and meat boards. And – for those with a sweet tooth – mini doughnuts and affogato will be available to round off the meal in style.

We wanted to provide a range of dishes that are not only hearty and comforting but stylish and classy.
Chef Vanessa Marx

Festival-goers will be entertained with live music from solo musicians Dylan Live and Jared Coetzee.

Tickets to the VIP event on Friday are R600 per person and include a welcome glass of bubbly, 20 bubbly tasting coupons and three food coupons, one of which is for dessert. This makes for a substantial meal promise the organisers.

Tickets for the event on Saturday cost R300 per person and include a complimentary tasting glass and 15 tasting coupons. Food will also be available for purchase at stalls at the venue. Additional vouchers can be purchased on both days of the festival.

Brooklyn Bubbles will allow guests to sample some of South Africa’s best Methodé Cap Classiques as well as some of France’s finest Champagnes. To accompany this we will be providing some amazing food from one of SA’s top chefs in an elegant, yet relaxed, atmosphere.
