Toasting and tasting success at the 16th Absa Wealth Management Champagne Festival @Absa

Since its accidental invention by French Monk Dom Pérignon centuries ago, champagne has always been associated with achievement and celebrations, whether it is the acceptance of a wedding proposal or celebrations on the Formula 1 podium.

Absa’s Wealth, Investment Management and Insurance (WIMI) as well as Corporate Investment Banking (CIB) clients will be able to sample and purchase champagne from the world’s best producers at the 16th Annual Absa Champagne Festival, the only one of its kind in South Africa, which is set to take place in Johannesburg between 1 and 3 November. While the event will be exclusively available to Absa WIMI and CIB customers on 1 and 2 November, the public will be able to attend on 3 November.

A stunning selection of premium French Champagne from the world’s leading champagne makers will be available for sale exclusively on the night. These include the likes of Benoit Lahaye, Besserat, Drappier, Billecart-Salmon, Laurent Perrier, GH Mumm, Taittinger, Piper Heidsieck, Bollinger and Lanson to name a few.

Only sparkling wines from a limited area of the French province of Champagne-Ardenne north east of Paris can be called champagne, making the handful of estates producing the famous drink highly sought after the world over.

Attendees will receive a tasting pack with a Champagne flute. In between tasting this revered drink in a beautiful, balmy setting, and enjoying some of the finest cuisine, there will also be some networking opportunities for attendees.

Regrettably, tickets for the public night (3 November) are already sold out.
